It's hard to grasp that over a year has now passed since Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina. The losses were nothing short of tragic. One year has passed and so much amazing work towards recovery has been accomplished. But one year has passed and there are still many after effects that have lasted to this day and likely will for years to come. The storm brought tragedy but it also brought a region together. Neighborhoods, communities, towns, counties, and the entire Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia regions were reminded just how closely interconnected we all are. In the wake of the storm, so many folks, many affected themselves, were asking which of their neighbors needed help. People from out of state dropped everything and came to volunteer. Others contributed from afar. The outpouring of support was a breathtaking and the bonds of community never felt tighter.

Together we raised $24,000 to go towards Hurricane Helene relief through our first round of Resilient. That money was distributed to State Line Resource Stationthe King family who lost their home to a mudslide, Valle Crucis PTSO, Valle Crucis Park, and the Seldomridges of River and Earth Adventures.

With the anniversary of the storm passing and the ongoing needs of our neighbors in Appalachia we have decided to bring this fundraiser back. Resilient is a coffee for Appalachia, a coffee for our neighbors, a coffee for our home. It is a deliciously balanced, chocolate forward medium roast coffee from the Huila region of Colombia.

$10 per bag from the sale of this coffee will go to supporting the Watauga Community Foundation which awarded $180,000 in disaster relief funds through the NC Community Foundation.

We appreciate everyone who has already played a pivotal role in getting Western North Carolina back on its feet and all of those who will help to carry the torch in the long process that is yet to come. We invite you to help in the recovery process and in exchange we'll make sure you have a tasty bag of coffee to enjoy.
