Farm:Various smallholder farmers delivering to the Arsosala Washing Station
Variety:Heirloom Ethiopian Varieties
Importer: Cafe Imports
This washed Ethiopian offering comes to us from the Arsosala washing station which serves about 1200 smallholder producers from the Urga woreda of Guji. The ripe cherries are depulped the same day as harvest, fermented overnight, washed clean, then dried on raised beds. Like many Ethiopian offerings, this coffee is a great taste of a given region's quality thanks to an amazing terroir, meticulous picking and processing, and the heirloom, or when talking locally, landrace varieties of coffee that make up a blend from many producers.
In the cup we taste a beautiful balance of limoncello and white grape notes, a soft, delicate acidity, and an all around juicy flavor profile.
